Having the names that were specified in the input coord file
included in the output file would be helpful.
In addition, if it is possible to have output (optionally) the distance
(in arcsec) between the input source and the output source, that
would be helpful too.
My understanding of the way the search tool is working: you
specify radius around which to search and the tool outputs all
of the sources within that radius, not simply the closest source
to the input source. If you have a list of sources that you input,
say 100 sources, and are searching 5" around each source, it
is possible that you would get more than 100 sources on output.
You would like to know which sources were output for each input
source, and the distance the source is from the associated input
source (so that you could, if you want, choose the closest source
to each input source without much work). In such a scheme, it is
possible that a source could be output more than once (if it falls
within the search radius of more than one input source). This
should be allowed, I think.
Perhaps this sort of searching can be implemented as an option
with a button?
Another option might be that one, and only one, output source
is returned for each input source. That output source would
be the source that is closest to the input source, provided it is
within the search radius.
I'm thinking of how I would be using this search tool, and both
of those options would be useful to me. But, either way, having
the input names is most important, followed by the distance.
